Country Economic Reports monitor the economic performance and assess the needs of its developing member countries. These regular evaluations are the basis for the country strategy and program reports and updates. This document is disclosed after Board circulation.

ESW reports provide "the basis for the Bank Group's diagnosis of a given country's development prospects. ESW provides a sound basis for dialogue with a borrowing member country on development objectives and policy." ESW reports include economic, and sector studies, reviews and strategy papers and will be disclosed after they are distributed to the Board.

This document is disclosed after Board approval.

For each country the EBRD provides an Economic Overview under its general country strategy. The Economic overview includes: Macroeconomic Performance, Outlook and Risks, Transition Indicators (Current Year), Real GDP, and Interest Rates and Inflation.

There is a report on EIB lending for each country. "The 2008 Annual Economic Report on Partner Countries prepared by the Development Economics Advisory Service (DEAS) presents an overview of economic developments in countries covered by three of the EIB’s external mandates: the European Neighbourhood Partner Countries (ENPC) – including the Eastern Neighbour Countries (Eastern Europe, Southern Caucasus & Russia) as well as the Mediterranean Partner Countries (MPC) – Africa, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) plus South Africa, Asia and Latin America (ALA)."

It provides an overview of a country’s recent economic developments, economic policy and an outlook for the future. This document is disclosed on an ad-hoc basis.

They provide an economic outlook for a given country or group of countries. SEPs are disclosed “after they are finalized by the respective Regional Operations Department.” These documents are prepared on an annual basis and are updated six months after preparation.

“The Bank performs Country and Sector Work to provide a sound basis for dialogue with a borrowing member country on development objectives and policy, to inform the Bank’s country strategy formulation, and to facilitate project identification.” These documents are generally disclosed, however “Country and Sector Analytic Work… shall not be made available to the public if the borrowing member country concerned objects to such disclosure.”

Other ESW reports, in addition to "gray cover reports" may be made publicly available by the director concerned, taking into account such factors as the need to protect confidential information and the country’s internal deliberative process, after consultation with the country concerned.

They "analyze key aspects of a country's economic development, including growth, fiscal reform, public administration, foreign trade, financial sector development and labor markets." Country Economic Memoranda are disclosed with Economic and Sector Work Reports.

"The Bank undertakes economic and sector work (ESW), which, among other things, provides the basis for the Bank’s diagnosis of a given country’s development prospects. Reports emanating from ESW (ESW Reports) that are distributed to the Executive Directors for information (known as “gray cover reports”) are publicly available after such distribution."
