1. General Institutional Information

These are the founding documents of the WB. These documents outline the conditions of membership and the general principles of organization, management and operations.

The WB Group's organizational structure is explained in these posted charts. The list of key officials identifies senior managers of the WB: the president, managing directors, and vice presidents.

Published each fall, the staff directory contains organizational listings and contact information for staff.

These documents provide detailed instructions and guidelines to WB staff on how to carry out the Bank's policies. Staff Handbooks are disclosed on an ad hoc basis.

The Manual is organized by topic and function. "Volume I deals with the Bank's core development objectives and goals, and the instruments for pursuing them and Volume II covers the requirements applicable to Bank-financed lending operations."

The Staff Manual contains the Principles of Staff Employment (Principles) adopted by the Executive Directors and the Staff Rules established by the President to implement the Principles. It will be made available to the public after removing any references to individual staff.

The staff compensation paper, which addresses the Bank’s salary setting process, will be released after the Board discussion and finalization, and after removing any proprietary information and non-public information about third parties.

This Budget Document presents management' s work program, and budget proposals for the Bank and the International Development Association (IBRD/IDA) for the current year, and indicative proposals for the coming, based on the Strategy Update Paper discussed with the Board.

This document explains the implementation of the World Bank's strategic framework and, based on current trands, outlines estimated Administrative Budgets for the next three years.

"The paper recommending the Board’s approval of the Bank’s administrative budget (This Board paper for FY05 is entitled The World Bank’s Budget: Trends and Recommendations for FY05) [will] be made available to the public after the Board has authorized the budget, and after the paper has been finalized."

This report contains an audited statement of its accounts, of its financial position and a profit and loss statement showing the results of its operations. It includes annual audited financial statements as of the June 30 fiscal year-end.

Framework Agreements between the Bank and donors and Administration Agreements between the Bank and donors relate to trust funds, as well as agreements providing for such funds between the Bank and the recipient of such funds. These documents are disclosed "after they have been signed on behalf of the parties to the particular agreement and have entered into effect, and after the parties to such agreements have given their consent to such proposed disclosure."

Although this is not the official document title, the WB's Policy on Information Disclosure states that this information will be announced publicly at the beginning of the fiscal year (July1).
